About the Duo
Their presence is warm, their smiles are contagious, and their music is charming. As they kindle the chords and lyrics of all their favorite jazz standards and pop covers, a certain glow ignites their gaze. Carrie and Thomas love playing music together, and can enchant any room with their elegant and sophisticated sound. Based in Seattle, Jennings Jazz Duo performs regularly throughout the Pacific Northwest and has been touring across the West Coast together for over a decade.
Concerts
Carrie & Thomas are available for both public and private concerts across the West Coast. The duo format provides an intimate setting for sharing their love of jazz and the beautiful repertoire of The Great American Songbook, and they love the magic that comes with a listening room atmosphere. Some recent performances include a backyard soirée in Seattle (WA), a house warming party in Bellevue (WA), a private concert in Lafayette (CO), and an evening of jazz and cocktails on Vashon Island (WA).
Weddings
Available for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception music, these seasoned performers know just what it takes to contribute to a beautiful and effortless wedding day. They have a minimal setup, supply all their own gear, and happily take requests for prelude, processional, recessional, postlude, and first dance music. Browse their song lists below for reference. Background Music
Jennings Jazz Duo provides elegant background music that sets the tone for a charming brunch, a relaxing happy hour, or a special event. Playing a mix of jazz standards and covers, they aim to please a wide variety of listeners, and their mellow sound creates a delightful ambience. Recent performances include a private party at Bella Luna Farms, brunch on The Tahoe Gal Cruise, happy hour at Stoup Brewing, and Valentine’s Day on Lake Union’s Waterways Cruises.

As musicians ourselves, when we started the wedding-planning process, we knew that we wanted to hire musicians to play our ceremony and reception. We were so lucky to have found Carrie and Thomas Jennings through a musical connection. They are professional musicians with experience in solo performance, their nationally-recognized band Mama Magnolia, and teaching. We knew instantly that we were in capable and passionate hands!
From the very start, they were organized and communicative with us about our hopes for our wedding music. We loved that they found a time to meet in person to share our vision for our ceremony and the unique details of our venue. Carrie and Thomas have a large repertoire of jazz standards, blues, and Americana tunes. They helped us thoughtfully select songs for our ceremony and together we made a list of songs we wanted to hear throughout our reception, in addition to their own selections. They understood the atmosphere that we were trying to create in our little garden-party wedding and each song brought that ambiance to life for our guests.
Carrie and Thomas are professionals through and through. They arrived at our venue early to ensure that they had ample time to set up, chat with our day-of-coordinator, and get organized for preludes. They clearly understand the pacing of weddings; they effortlessly navigated the timing of our processionals and ceremony, and balanced the dynamics of their vocals and instrumentals.
Carrie’s voice has a warm and full timbre and Thomas’s guitar skills are unparalleled. Months later, our guests still compliment how magical the music was at our wedding. We still daydream about the way their music deepend the warmth and love of our wedding day.
